This blend is inspired by The Lord of the Rings. Check out the entire delicious collection here!
The hands of a king and a healer are present in this tea, waiting to guide you through the twisting woods. Bright blackberry and sage mingle with mulberry sweetly in an intoxicating ranger's perfume. Steep again, and what do you find? Cedar resin and peppercorn. Steep again, and what do you find? Charcoal roasted oolong, that old friend which has walked beside you along the path, has opened and melded into a sweet magnolia blossom fragrance. The lingering flavors of all infusions evoke a day spent striding through woods at once strange and familiar.
Ingredients: Roasted oolong tea, western red cedar tips, mulberry leaf, black peppercorn, blackberry, white sage
Steep at 195° F or 90.6°C for 2-5 min

I enjoy many of Friday's blends, but the Lord of the Rings collection truly stands out as a remarkable and delicious fandom series, with consistent hits (shoutout of thanks to Greg the Wonderful for his creations here!). One particularly notable and tasty blend is the premium "Brother, Captain, King," which excites my palate with its combination of woodsy, herbaceous, and fruity flavors... making it one of the best teas in Friday's Fall Fandom lineup.
A key highlight of this tea is its forgiving nature; even with sage, oversteeping never causes bitterness or makes it undrinkable. Instead, it enhances the flavors, making it even more delicious! I adore this cup’s forest-like imagery and plan to enjoy it daily. The western red cedar tips provide a subtle green, woodsy, pine background, while roasted Oolong adds deep, bold notes reminiscent of autumn leaves or dark foliage. Mulberry leaves and dried blackberries contribute forest-berry and sweet flavors. Using white sage instead of garden sage gives a fresh, herbaceous, and slightly eucalyptus flavor evocative of elven woods. The black peppercorn adds a mild spice without heat. This tea is like stepping into a magical forest, home to rangers and hobbits.
I highly recommend this tea to those seeking a woodsy, green, and fruity experience with complex flavors that pair well with sugar (just avoid milk!). It's also extremely aesthetically pleasing, and I proudly display this particular tea in a clear glass container with a bamboo lid in my kitchen. If you're undecided, I definitely recommend giving it a try!
A sample of this tea was generously given with my order and it instantly rocketed up to be my favorite of the bunch. An absolutely delightful surprise that I will be eager to order again when it is back in season!
A lovely blend that evokes wild places and quiet moments. Wonderful while writing or making art!
Delicious and heartfelt. The appearance of the tea leaves evokes the foliage of a forest, and the taste of the infusion is steady, calm, but bright, like the character it’s meant to evoke.
I adore this tea! I find the flavor is wonderful for slow mornings when it is hard to start a day or quiet afternoons for cozy relaxing.
