It's the ingredients in your cup that brings the spirit: earthy roasty barley substrate with a distinct cybernetic electrotwang ginkgo-oolong overnote and a sweet wholesome aloe finish. Ingredients: Aloe vera, roasted barley (gluten allergen), roasted yaupon holly, ginkgo, roasted oolong, clove, coriander, natural cinnamon flavoring, blue lustre dust*
*Blue lustre dust contains: mica, titanium dioxide (E171), blue 1 lake (E133)
Steep at 195° F or 90.5°C for 7-9 min
Approximately 10mg of caffeine per cup

I felt compelled to leave a review to express my admiration for "Chrome Dome." I received a sample with a Summer order, and at first, I was unsure if I would like it based on the ingredients, which seemed a bit... dubious. However, after brewing the tea, I was completely and unexpectedly in love with it. I bought more immediately, and my fondness for it grew with each cup.
I’ve just ordered 4 ounces to enjoy for a while, and I wanted to share that you might also find this unique little tea enchanting and surprisingly delicious.
If the ingredients seem questionable to you, as they initially did to me, I want to assure you that, somehow, with a bit of that charming tea magic, they come together in a wonderfully harmonious and delicious way. It’s a flavor that’s a little earthy, like grains from barley, and a little...zing. Honestly, this is probably the most challenging flavor I've ever tried to describe, and that’s saying something! It's roasty and toasty, yet also bright and sweet. I really enjoy how it pairs beautifully with a touch of sugar or honey. Plus, the aloe vera lends a uniquely special flavor that’s really hard to put into words, but I promise, it’s truly unforgettable and delightful.
If you're local to the cafe or have a sample, I suggest smelling this tea before trying it. If you enjoy the dry tea's fragrance, you'll probably like the brewed tea too; however, the scent doesn't fully capture the aloe vera or some spice notes. The combination of spices, aloe, and barley creates a delightful hot brew suitable for any season.
The high-quality Oolong is just enough to give this tea a full-bodied, enjoyable flavor. To my palate, the dominant flavors are barley, aloe vera, and coriander, but it's really the harmonious blend of all ingredients that makes this tea exceptional. I'm a big fan of this tea and recommend it to those who appreciate unique blends, roasted barley, aloe vera, or toasted/roasty teas. I'm so glad I received it as a sample because I'm now hooked!
