I loved this so much more than I thought I would. I hadn't tried yerba mate before and heard it was an acquired taste, but I found this tea mild, with complex layers, and loved it immediately. Growing up around western cedar trees it was a trip to see some in my gaiwan, and I was surprised by how nice the flavor is. A drink truly worthy of its inspiration, my favorite game of all time!
I don't usually like yerba mate, but I was curious about the cedar tips. I see videos from foragers and food writers about teas using cedar and fir tips, and not wanting to take a chance on my own plant-identifying skill (non-existent haha), I was tickled to see this offered on the website. It's not my favorite, but it is refreshing and makes for a nice pick-me-up in the afternoon.
This one has become one of my favorite teas as of late, I find it's both earthy and refreshing in a delightful way. If you could capture the essence of the Kokiri forest in a drink, this would have to be it!
This literally tastes like what I imagine Breath of the Wild tastes like, but in a cup of tea. If fog rising above the trees overlooking a wide expanse of wilderness with just enough caffeine to start your day was a taste, it would be this tea. Cannot recommend it enough.
