Darkest Chai
This tea is one of our signature House Blends. Check out the entire delicious collection here!
If there's anything better than a rich earthy chai, it's a BITEY rich earthy chai. This blend is a bolder take on a classic masala chai, with electric notes of cardamom, warming cinnamon and a zippy ginger-pepper combo. Tearista Greg developed this one, and his choice of Satemwa Dark (a cave-aged tea from Malawi) as a base makes for a rare chai that can brew forever without going overly tannic. Sink into it!
Ingredients: Aged dark tea, cinnamon, spicy ginger, cardamom, black peppercorn, turmeric
Approximately 80mg of caffeine per cup
Steep at 210° F or 98.9°C for 3-5 minutes

I take my chai milky with a little honey, and this one is nice and spicy and a little mysterious? I'm definitely going to get more because I drank it all immediately. The tea flavor has a lot of depth and a long lingering aroma/aftertaste that makes me think of crumbly soil (complimentary). Is that the aged tea? I don't have the expertise to say for sure, but this is really good.
Such a rich and luxurious Chai. I try to keep some on hand as a treat after a long day.
This blend has a deep flavor and it that extra bite makes it the perfect cup of chai. This is one of my favorite chai blends that I have ever tasted.
I try a lot of chai blends. I'm extremely *fussy* about them; they need to have exactly the right balance of spices, never too heavy on any one thing (except maybe ginger), and not too tannic. This one hits everything just about right. The aged tea gives it a woody, earthy base that provides a unique contrast and mellowing complement with the spice blend, and the spices are balanced and zingy without being overpowering. I love this tea!
I got a free sample of this in an order, and WOW! I will be buying a full-sized bag as soon as possible. The depth of flavor in this tea is so impressive, every sip brings out different notes.
